Knitting // Classic and warm, the "Effortless" sweater pattern from Quince & Co.
Crochet // I love this idea for storing stacks of granny square blankets.
Etsy // Counting sheep to help you sleep. Pillowcase from Kin Ship Press.
Style // Kathryn's winter wonderland walk looks so dreamy and cozy in her warm layers.
Art // A beautiful scarf illustration by Emma Leonard.
Food // Black tea + honey + muffins = the perfect combination! I can't wait to try this recipe from Chasing Delicious.
I have my fingers crossed for another snow day this winter. I feel a little greedy wishing for anything more than the magical white Christmas we received, but I can't help dreaming of a few more snowflakes. My ideal snow day involves all of the above: sweaters, blankets, sleeping, snowy walks, scarves, and baking. Hopefully the chilly grey skies over Texas will turn to snow once more before the season is over.
It was a mostly rainy weekend over here, which unfortunately brought my productivity to a minimum. I did venture out in the rain to an antique shop and found some crochet project inspiration. Other than that, I am looking forward to the Golden Globes, a new episode of Downton Abbey tonight and, of course, the new week ahead. :)
How was your weekend? Did you work on any new projects?
Happy Sunday to you!

I love that little cabinet for the granny square blankets. I'm always making baby blankets and usually have no place to store them. No, current projects for the weekend. My mother made little houses out of plaster so I painted them but I'm an awful painter.
ReplyDeleteI love the granny square cabinet! You always post the best stuff!

Ooooh, that knitted sweater is beautiful and I love how dreamy Kathryn's pictures are!!! I also love the scarf illustration. One of my favorite joys is clothing illustrations. <3
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!!!
I have bad childhood memories of orange acrylic granny squares, but those ones in the pictures are so pretty. May need to learn how to make them.
ReplyDeleteThat pillowcase is BEYOND perfect. Thank you for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI just loved the raspberry white chocolate scones you mentioned last week and the notion of tea, scones, and Downton was just lovely. So I did just that! I made the scones yesturday (they turned out great!) and had a lovely evening. You inspire me!
ReplyDeleteThis little granny square blanket collection is so darling!

The green dress and brown scarf are lovely!

I love the granny blankets too - I need to make more so I can stack them somewhere :)
ReplyDeleteI love those crochet blankets, they are amazing! I attempted crochet over the weekend for the first time, teaching myself while watching you tube clips! I found it difficult (which frustrated me as I'm one of those people who likes to get it right first time!) - Would you know of any websites / books which you could recommend to a newbie such as myself? :)x
ReplyDeleteWhy... that sweater is the exact one that my sister-in-law made me and that I am wearing RIGHT NOW! What a coincidence! It is a wonderful sweater, especially for girls who are going to be pregnant (as I am now) and want to wear it all winter long!
ReplyDeleteThere's something about the colors and the patterns of those afghans together that I just love! This weekend I crocheted a scarf for my mom, who was sad I didn't make her one for Christmas. So I started Friday and ended yesterday! I also spent an hour or so each night watching I Love Lucy and practicing my knitting! It was a splendid weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely, I'm actually off work on a snow day today. I'm curling up to finish off a crochet blanket and watch baking shows, cosy!

ReplyDeleteI love the stack of granny square blankets!! And that little sheep pillowcase is so adorable!! xo
ReplyDeleteBlack tea and honey muffins sound delicious, will have to try and bake some at the weekend!
ReplyDeleteThese are all such beautiful photos. I'd love to have a snowday, but here in Phoenix I'll have to be satisfied with a really cold day :( Still, I'm bundling up, wearing fuzzy socks, and drinking hot beverages!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is so cute and I absolutely love the granny square blankets. I would love to have a collection of them someday!

The black tea and honey muffins look delicious. Maybe I'll try to make them this week before I go back to school.
ReplyDeleteI just wish I had that many hand made granny square blankets!
ReplyDeleteI want to try those muffins too! They look so so tasty.

I've barely seen a snowflake this winter. :( Maybe I'll get a snow day soon...
ReplyDeleteAs for projects, I recently finished a sweater with crochet detailing and a slouchy crochet hat for a crochet-a-long. :)
I made an Effortless Cardigan this fall, and I live in it now! It's really cozy, the pattern knits up really fast and there is no seaming. I definitely recommend adding it to your list of things to knit.
