Food // Black tea + honey + muffins = the perfect combination! I can't wait to try this recipe from Chasing Delicious.I have my fingers crossed for another snow day this winter. I feel a little greedy wishing for anything more than the magical white Christmas we received, but I can't help dreaming of a few more snowflakes. My ideal snow day involves all of the above: sweaters, blankets, sleeping, snowy walks, scarves, and baking. Hopefully the chilly grey skies over Texas will turn to snow once more before the season is over.
It was a mostly rainy weekend over here, which unfortunately brought my productivity to a minimum. I did venture out in the rain to an antique shop and found some crochet project inspiration. Other than that, I am looking forward to the Golden Globes, a new episode of Downton Abbey tonight and, of course, the new week ahead. :)

I love that little cabinet for the granny square blankets. I'm always making baby blankets and usually have no place to store them. No, current projects for the weekend. My mother made little houses out of plaster so I painted them but I'm an awful painter.

I have bad childhood memories of orange acrylic granny squares, but those ones in the pictures are so pretty. May need to learn how to make them.

ReplyDeleteI just loved the raspberry white chocolate scones you mentioned last week and the notion of tea, scones, and Downton was just lovely. So I did just that! I made the scones yesturday (they turned out great!) and had a lovely evening. You inspire me!

ReplyDeleteWhy... that sweater is the exact one that my sister-in-law made me and that I am wearing RIGHT NOW! What a coincidence! It is a wonderful sweater, especially for girls who are going to be pregnant (as I am now) and want to wear it all winter long!

This weekend I crocheted a scarf for my mom, who was sad I didn't make her one for Christmas. So I started Friday and ended yesterday! I also spent an hour or so each night watching I Love Lucy and practicing my knitting! It was a splendid weekend!

ReplyDeleteAs for projects, I recently finished a sweater with crochet detailing and a slouchy crochet hat for a crochet-a-long. :)
I made an Effortless Cardigan this fall, and I live in it now! It's really cozy, the pattern knits up really fast and there is no seaming. I definitely recommend adding it to your list of things to knit.
